Tennis Court Sweeping And Replacing Old Sand

Artificial tennis court cleaning of debris and leaves, as well as replacing the old sand.

We recently had a phone call from a repeat customer who wanted their artificial Tennis Court swept and cleaned. With further discussion with the customer they decided that they would also like the sand replaced.

Adding sand to artificial grass courts or carpeted tennis courts stabilises the surface and increases players’ speed. Evenly layered sand will ensure a consistent playing surface, and granules layered deeper below improve the longevity of the court and prevent surface damage. A court with inlaid sand requires regular brushing and deep cleaning to avoid erosion and improve drainage. It also helps with the maintenance of the court as sand added between the surface’s fibres limits the extent of wear and tear.

Our team arrived on site with one Kersten Machine but with two attachments. The Kersten Machine was a K2100 power unit and the first attachment they used was a sweeper brush with collector box. The sweeper brush was able to agitate the fibres and release the debris as well as release the old sand. Once the court was successfully cleaned and the old sand removed we were able to start to replenish with new sand. For this we used the same power unit but we added a wide sweeping brush (KRB250). This allowed the new sand to be pushed into the fibres and throughout the tennis court allowing the surface of the court to be even and stabilised.

As you can see from the photos below, cleaning and sand replacements makes a big difference to the look as well prolonging the life expectancy of the court.

If you believe that your tennis court could use the same treatment, please call us and we would be happy to discuss your sweeping needs.
